Love Hate List

Today’s Writer’s Digest prompt is to write a love / hate list. In the end, perhaps a couple of items from the love list can be used to overcome a couple of things on the hate list in a poem, short story, or novel. Here is my attempt:

Things I Love:
My children
My church
Writing
Reading
Journals
Poems, poets, and hippies – because they all beautifully connect
Candles and candle flames
Music – lyrics, piano notes, guitar strings
Pizza
Sushi
Crying
Laughing
Photographs
Seeing my name written in other people’s handwriting
Coffee and coffee cups
Paintings
Football
Hugs
Crafts
Connecting
Paul’s Letters
Walt Whitman
Psalms and Proverbs
Preachers with calming voices and encouraging messages

Things I Hate:
Mean people
Hopelessness
Being broke
Rodents
Being lied to
Orange drinks – Tang, Sunkist, Crush,
Anxiety
APA
Beets
Being afraid
War
Seeing people who are hurting – especially my children
Death
